Pick a day that you want to stop. Make sure there will be the fewest possible reasons to smoke in the coming weeks. Don’t plan to stop if you are coming up to a very stressful time in your life, or are going through something difficult. Also, don’t plan to stop if you are trying to change another habit at the same time. Change one thing at a time.
Make a list of all the reasons you want to stop smoking. It’s essential that you are clear in your mind why you want to stop. If you have stopped before try to think back to what felt better when you were not smoking.
Listen to the recording once or twice a week. If you do smoke between times make a note of what the triggers were, then make a plan about how else you could react to those triggers.
Most people find hypnotherapy more effective if they are not also using patches or medication.
You should expect to see your usage drop very quickly, and stop completely over 2 to 3 weeks
